For some unknown reason, I thought Squirrel Works needed a spool rocket in the catalog.

But spool rockets are pretty common.

It needs to be different.

Maybe it could be 2 stage.

Yeah, that's it.

The spool looks cool! :D

What motors does it use?
And about what altitude does the second stage go to?
Even with the 2 stages, seems like it could still be used for small field flights.

Hmm. Our club's having a (non Pink Book, obviously) 2 stage spot landing contest in May...

Thanks!

The spool uses D12-0's in both the booster and sustainer. I was a little busy trying to get photos and tracking the sections to get any kind of guesstimate on the altitude. It went higher than I thought it would but would still be great for small fields.

So, it's all about the graphics.

Not sure what you mean but good graphics are a plus on almost any kit.

Estes and Centuri made a killing on dozens of 3FNC kits with cool graphics.

Except we're not offering any F's or an NC. That doesn't sound quite right, does it?

Is it all about the graphics, no. We like to include graphics but this kit is all about the concept that you can stage a spool and that's cool, two cool. "Two" because it has two stages. :D

It reminds me of the old expression"too cool for school" as I'm sure it does many people. I think it's great! Thanks for offering so many kits that think"outside the box"

I'm thinking this should be 29mm to use the relatively new Estes E16/F15 motors.
A nice E16-0 to F15-8 (with a delay/ejection charge) flight that starts a grass fire due to ejection charge firing on the ground would add a nice level of post-flight mayhem. Almost as entertaining as a PMC Powr-Prangg.

Unfortunately, you didn't submit that idea to the design department before the deadline.
