Look at the red rocket under "Bulk Packs" in this link to Estes 1995 catalog; is there an
official name of this model or is this just a generic design? Other than looking like an improved version of the Astron Sprint, this model (design) looks like a high performer.

"Performance" look at the first word befre "bulk pack" It says Performance bulk Pack.

Look at the payload rocket on the other page, that is a Load Star, stated in the first word of the description.

Reading the description, I have to say I'd love to have one of those bulk packs. The whole thing, that is, decals and plans and all.

Not that I can't clone that rocket. In fact, I may. But the text indicates that the bulk pack contains a variety of options...

Just a generic design. The Performance Bulk Pack just had basic parts for a BT-50 rocket with 18mm mount and an PNC-50K nose. It was up to whoever built the rocket as to what it eventually looked like. It could be long, short, swept fin, elliptical, or clipped delta. With boat tail or without. The pictured rocket was probably the usual result of the "experiment in drag coefficients."

The Estes Mach 12 was the same in that you could change the fins to whatever configurations that you wanted.

My original Deluxe Super Shot Screw Machne was about the same as the fins goes, you could make many configurations, as well as the length. Then, the Screw machine became the Converter, except the fins could not be changed, just the length. But, at least, you could have three different lengths from one rocket.

Wow, great timing. I never thought this subject would be advertised on e-bay....

Now that the pic of the kit's components is shown, it makes more sense.
