Let me check my fridge. :p
If not, I know of a local bar that still has a supply of Old Style on hand in cans from 1982.

Oh Pooh! I haven't had an Old Style since the Air Force assigned me to Carswell AFB (BRAC'ed in '93) from Wurtsmith AFB (et tu BRAC '93) bACK IN 1983. Of course, that didn't make me give up beer. I will have a limited amount of Rahr and Sons beer from Fort Worth at NARAM and on to visit my family in Central Ohio.
You have to "love" a tiny bar in northern MI that gives you a six ounce glass and a 32 ounce Old Style for less than $2. I think.... Decades ago.
Since Carl has been in suspened animation for 31 years, is he still old enough to enjoy an adult beverage?
I'm thinking yes...

Heh, Old Doggy Style was our fraternity (Triangle) beer in the early 80's.

I'll be there ready to loft said beverage (even "the Pooh's" skunky stuff). I'm camping at a place called Winton Woods - 6 miles from the hotel & 15 miles to the field. Lofting in a lobby, lofting around a fire - what the hey, lofting is lofting (hic...). Planning on bringing some interesting adult beverages.

Unfortunately, the Kelo man isn't making it this year. Just saw his Round Tuit teammate, Randy Boadway - Kelo's company (Edge Sweets - engineering, not candy) was awarded some high-falutin govt contracts (meaning much work & travel for Kelo) & a daughter is getting married (add sound of $$$$$ going round & round - cha ching).

(Marginally related side note - we're bringing a couple of fru-fru pups down with us - Tootsie & Kirby. Kirby got his name from Kelo's pet parakeet...)

In any case, looking forward to coming to Cinci...

I won't be making it to NARAM, but I do plan to be at NARCON next spring (though I guess it's still winter in Wisconsin in early March).

My wife and kids camped with my in-laws there a few summers back. It's a nice place as campsites go. Doubly so being as close as it is to the city. I'm not a camper, but I've been known to sip a Kool-Aid around the fire.
An added benefit to Winton Woods is its proximity to Johnnys Toys. One of the areas truly great hobby stores. Great engine prices. Unfortunately the kit selection has blown chunks of late.
Kelo-man? Sounds like a girly-man to me. :D Not coming to NARAM. SHEESH!

Same here - I'm going under the knife in early August (knee surgery - nothing too complicated) and then heading to Cape Cod for some R&R, but I'm going to NARCON if
I have to walk....

Apparently a visit to the Jelly Belly factory (~6 miles west) is on our itinerary. :D

NARCON itself will hopefully involve plenty of quality time with guys named Carl and Bill and the like. ;) :D

I can do that, too. I was very disapointed that I couldn't make it to the last one to meet
Mr. Estes and his wife.

Question: is Lee Piester's last name pronounced "Pie-ster" or"Pee-ster". I've alwas gone with the former, but then again I always pronounced Estes "Est-ees" (and the Apogee II
"A-PODGE-ee" II, as well as a few other more embarassing mispronounciations) :o

but then again I always pronounced Estes "Est-ees" (and the Apogee II "A-PODGE-ee" II, as well as a few other more embarassing mispronounciations) :o (chuckling) I remember reading the 1970's Centuri catalog with the FlutterBy, I think, and pronouncing the words "exotic" and "unique" as "ee-TOX-ic" and "un-KWI." :o ;)

And I was embarrassed to mispronounce "Avenger" as "AV-en-jur" while talking with my former boss about motorcycles... of which he knew a lot, and I knew... (Schultz voice) "*NUSS-sink!*" :D

Be sure to visit Mo's when you get to Newport for seafood - locally famous for their shrimp.

I had knee surgery (nothing too complicated) just this past March... but if I have to walk from Houston to Kenosha then I won't come to NARCON. Hopefully I'll either drive (a rental car, NOT my 1993 Escort) or fly.

Well, tired of hopping and tired of intermittently feeling a sudden, really painful popping sensation that made me say bad words. :)

I was sure that Amazon was pronounced "uh-MAZE-on" when I was in grade school. And there was this one girl in my class (Geri Henderson, IIRC) who pronounced "environment" as "envy-RON-ment".

"Scotty the Pooh?" Dang Bill , you're killing me! "Scooter the Pooh" would be good as well! Yeah, I've been laying low but I've been keeping up on every post to OldRockets on Yahoo for months, I just don't have much to say just now. I feel like a schmuck missing NARAM and all, but what ya gonna do?

ScooterM

Now why do I need to be out of town during NARAM? Winton Woods is right up the road from where I live! When you go up Winton Rd. north to I-275 to get to get to 75-N, you'll pass Johnny's Toys in Greenhills on the right. Check in there for Estes kits and motors for 30% off of MSRP. Also, watch the speedlimit on Winton through Greenhills since the GH cops make a fat living off speeders.

But as Bill E. often observes, "YMMV." ;) :p
