Hello All,

Lately, I haven't had the time to keep up with JonRocket.com the way it deserves, So........ we're selling out!

You can place your bid here: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&item=260417677835

For those of you who are wondering: I just don't have time. I have another internet business, run a small insurance agency, attend school full time and have a 12 year old who plays 3 sports and dances, a 6 year old and a 1 year old baby who seems to like to cry!

Today, I got the latest stuff from Custom in stock. I stacked that on top of the boxes that contained the new stuff from Fliskits, Starlight, Mercury, Semroc (2 rounds of releases) and I came to ther realization that I just don't have the time to devote to the business that I used to.

So if you want your own small business - A fun way to make a few thousand bucks per year + get all of your rocket stuff at wholesale (or below) place a bid. I have been profitable for all five years and would be happy to discuss the specifics with those who may have a real interest in purchasing the business.

Feel free to call or email me with any questions you may have.

Also, I'd like to say a BIG THANK YOU to those of you who have supported me through the years. So, THANK YOU.

If it included, say, ten years of your services as general manager and technical director, I'd bid :)

As president of one of your Virtual Vendor Sections, let me say offer
a hearty THANK YOU! You've done a great job and I recommended
your site even before the VV program started.

Can I assure my membership you'll continue with your usual excellent
service thru the sale?

Brianc,

We will continue operations as normal until a sale is finalized.

I will encourage the buyer to continue with the virtual vendor and the free kits for kids programs. Of course, it will be up to them.

Thanks for your support over the years. I know you stepped up and offered NIRA a nice competition package for our contest last fall.

Does the new owner have to be Jon/John :)

I could just see my new .sig "Bob, not Jon"

I'll have to check with my old KGB aerospace partners to see if we want to buy out another rocket company just to plunder the assets. As to running a business, I already know how to make a small fortune in the rocket business: start with a large fortune. But I suppose it couldn't be much worse than my 401K has been the past year. Last I checked, it was down to a 104K.

In case anyone's not looked (I hadn't) - it looks as if John has sold jonrocket.com: http://www.rocketryplanet.com/content/view/2895/30/

Best of luck to the new owners....and I'm glad to see they will carry on with the NARTREK support....as I have one of my students who is about ready to turn in his paperwork for the Mercury level and I know the freebie kit from jonrocket was one of his motivations for doing it.

Thanks. We're planning to continue to run the business much as John Arthur did - including support of NARTREK. Since John was successful with JonRocket, it would be silly of us to change things too much. :-)

It's obvious he set a standard that's not going to be easy to meet. But, John is helping us and we're committed to doing our best.

OK.

First, sorry for reviving an 8 year old thread, and sorry to Roger if the thread title causes his heart to skip a bit!

For those who don't know me or don't remember, I used to run a website called JonRocket.com (http://JonRocket.com) . It has since moved on to bigger and better things without me. From the reviews on this board and another, the new owners (not so new anymore) have done a great job with the site. - Even if I don't like the (different) logo. ;)

Anyway, I cleaned out the pole barn with the help of my 1 year old crying baby (see the top of the thread) - He's 8 now! He found boxes upon boxes of mostly smashed rocket stuff (including a stash of Top Flight Parachutes that I pulled a few out and promp0ly sold the balance to Uncle Mike) and now we're getting ready to launch tomorrow for the first time in years.

The old bug came back pretty quick and in doing some internet research I found a lot has changed, and even more has stayed the same. That said, it seems I could use an abridged history of model rockets for the past 8 years!

Glad to be back!
