Here's a quick summary of a ~40 page study on the aerodynamic effects of placing an HL-10 lifting body spacecraft atop a Saturn IB, and the relationships between the aerodynamic lift and induced bending loads on the rocket and spacecraft when using various types of adapter sections.

The first pic is the model used in the wind tunnel... with dimensions. Should give some basic information for anybody wanting to do an upscale or downscale... LOL

The second pic is a more detailed look at the lifting body model itself, with dimensions.

The third pic shows the layout of some of the components and also gives the dimensions of the different angles tested on the adapter sections to see what effects the adapter section had on the aerodynamics of the vehicle.

The fourth pic is another dimensioned drawing from the report...

The fifth pic has some more details of the HL-10 and it's tailfin dimensions...
