Am I ready? I feel ready.

I considered making this picture an "Identify the Rocket" game, but I'm pretty sure no one here would find it the least bit challenging.

I started the day by splashing my Patriot clone in the tiny pond on the edge of the field (the only water in the vicinity), and watching my Semroc Centaur go unstable (again - this was flight four: perfect, unstable, perfect, unstable).

Thankfully, the rest of the day was pretty great. Flew my eBay-salvaged 60's era Scrambler payload section on my new clone body. Other than losing one shroud line on the capsule, a perfect flight on 3 B6-6s.

You stuck the landing with the Scrambler booster. :D

With the Centaur, I'd skip the odd flights and only fly the even ones. :chuckle:

Also a first flight of the Semroc Ranger, on 3 C6-7s. Great flight again, with one shroud line tearing from the payload chute. Think I'll attach the payload chutes to a bit of shock cord and that to the payloads from now on to ease some of the stress.
Picture one is an especially bad shot of both components on the ground.

Ha! I think I'll retire the Centaur. At least for now.

Got to fly my 2x Goblin upscale. Initially built for, and flown often, on a 2 D cluster, the body finally came down in flames when one engine didn't ignite. Sandman's glorious nose cone survived, and I rebuilt the body to take a single E, today an E12-4.

Here's a glamour shot of my Star Orbiter, flown on an F15-6 on a still day. Still until apogee, when a breeze came up. To paraphrase the great philosopher Costanza:

The wind was angry that day, my friend. Like an old man trying to send soup back at a deli.

Note the lack of a recovery picture. After trodding seemingly miles and miles in the heat, in dirt so soft you sank five inches with every step, by the time I reached it I was seeing triple. I didn't know which one to take a picture of.

Got to fly my Mega Red Max. Great flight on a G74-6W.

Very hot day, but a great day of flying.
