Small Parts Storage

1 Attachment(s)
I've been looking for a better way to organize all my small rocket parts. I used to just keep them in little containers along the back of the bench. The problem was that everytime I needed something specific I would have to dump the contents on the bench and sift through the pile.
Now I put them in these clear containers. They work great for engine blocks, hooks, centering rings, nosecones, and launch lugs. I can turn them over to see if the part I need is inside and the large lids make retrieval easy.

I save the mixed nut containers like that for storing screws.

I needed a more durable storage solution for those delicate Estes igniters when I'm at the launch field.
These empty O'Keefes' hand cream jars fit the bill.
A silicone grip ring on the lid makes them easy to open and they hold lots of igniters.

I don't have the same model/brand, but something very similar. My outer container is plastic also.

Tube storage

I found a practical way to store all those small tubes and scraps that have been cluttering my workspace.
They are easily organized vertically in a 4.5 gallon bucket.
I keep it on the floor next to my bench. I just look down and know at a glance if I have the size and length needed.
Telescoping the smaller tubes of similar length into the larger ones maximizes capacity.

This crystal clear plastic bag (not cloudy like a kit bag) holds the couplers.
The size is written in pencil directly on the coupler and an office supply clamp allows it to hang from a peg board hook.

This is what I did; small parts cabinets and many plastic storage totes.

I use storage cabinets similar to Don's, but a bit less organized.
Being that organized would violate my "Laziness Credo".
