NCR Releases the North Hawk RC BG
 

North Coast Rocketry is proud to release the North Hawk(tm), a radio control boost glider kit, designed to fly on B and C engines.

The NCR North Hawk takes advantage of revolution in micro radio control gear to bring affordable RC flying to model rocketry! The North Hawk, designed by Bob Ferrante, features straight up, hands-off boosts due to it’s long pop-pod. It then easily transitions to glide, while the pod returns to earth via streamer.

The North Hawk was designed with the novice RC flyer in mind. The kit takes advantage of the laser cutting process to make part alignment straightforward and assembly quick and easy.

The glider has a 24” wingspan, is 22” long, and weighs about 2.4 oz with the radio gear.

The kit features laser-cut balsa parts, 3D printed pop-pod hooks, and a colorful decal. This kit requires a Spektrum AS6410L DSMX-6-Ch Ultra Micro AS3X Receiver; compatible transmitter; and 70 mAh 1S 14C LiPo battery.

I assume 2-ch Rudder/Elevator control ?
I have a TON of 110/150mAh 1S Li-Po batteries that I use in my Micro-R/C Corsair, P-51, and other ParkZone/Spektrum micros but nothing as small as a 70mAh you mention.
The 110/150 batteries are really small. Are those to heavy to use in this kit ?

Yes, it is 2 channel, rudder and elevator setup.

The bigger batteries don't add that much weight (and you have to add nose weight to the model anyways), but I'm not sure if there is room in the radio pod to squeeze them in. The design has cut outs to fit the 70mAh batteries, and there's not a lot of room leftover.

Looks great! After zooming the PDF the servos appear to be linear output!
What radio gear is that? Is it commonly available?

That's the receiver/servo board that is used in a bunch of different micro ("UMX") RC airplanes from Horizon Hobbies. That particular one looks to have connections for two more servos (for ailerons on the model it was taken from) among other things.
