Me too!
I want one too. But lets get real. How ya gonna do it and who is going to pay for all this?
When the world can stop bickering over resources and finally get along as one race, then and only then, can we work together and go forward out to space. I can go on but I won't. Rant over, carry on! |
He went well beyond a moon base. He proposed a significant portion of the NASA budget be prizes. he suggested bootstrapping private enterprise efforts as the primary new direction. He wants to revive Atlas and make its use far more widespread. It is a nuanced set of proposals worth reading on his site. Or viewing on c-span. It was in a speech given in Coco Beach FL yesterday.

Newt thinks calling his mistress " family" makes it OK too!

I want a pony, and a genetically engineered talking dog who can tell me when I really need to put a shirt in the laundry.
I don't need to pay the full price for these things, just leave out a dish of milk for the private enterprise fairies. Also, the pony needs to fly and fart magic rainbow dust. |

Well ther's plenty of the dog and pony shows going on in DC. I think the whole circus is called congress. They are always farting around with our money, etc. |
While I like a lot of Newt's ideas, I just can't trust him. He lives in a world of ideas (rather like people in a "think tank"), and he changes his ideas too often and too capriciously for my liking. More and more (especially in this election cycle), his behavior reminds me of Sire Uri in the original "Battlestar Galactica" series.

You hit that one on the head! |
Pick up a copy of Return to the Moon by Harrison Schmitt
This will explain a lot of the reasons why a return to the moon will become imperative. |
