New Logo

I'd like to thank Buzz Nau (Eagle3) for creating a new banner for YORF. We used to change the banner quite often, putting the rockets in there we wanted Carl to make for us next. That tradition stopped after Carl passed away. :(

Let's see if we can get the new Semroc to follow in Carl's footsteps. Wouldn't you guys like to see the Andromeda and Quasar available as kits?

Yessir, those two would be great to have back!

He's half way there already.

I'd much rather have the K-21 Gemini Titan and the Nike Ajax over those two.
Not really interested in either and the Quasar was my first ever kit.

Quasar! Please :) Just about wore the ink off the page staring at the Quasar page of the catalog when I was a kid.

Cool. I managed to aquire a nicely built vintage Centuri Quasar (it, along with some 1969-vintage motors including one B14) were the premium bits in a a donation to my club. I have since flown it a couple of times. There is another, built many years ago by Jim Pommert, that is still occasionally flown around here.

[Picking up that lot of donations also got me a short informal tour of Blue Origin's Kent, WA facility. The Quasar was built by the fellow who donated it when he was rather younger - he's now a propulsion engineer at Blue Origin.]

I'd love to actually build one.

GH - are you talking about the Estes chromed, stretched Alpha III or the Centuri design as your first kit? That said, I'll second your motion with respect to the K-21 Gemini Titan.

The rest of the Quasar parts you can get here,

Beware of the online decal sheet for the Quasar. They printed out too small and I don't recall what % I had to increase them for my clone.

Thank you sir, could I have a little more?

and just by being contrary to GH, we know we have a good choice.

ghrocketman 07-06-2018 09:59 PM

I was speaking about the Estes Citation Quasar, not the Centuri one.
By the way, being contrarian to ME assures being WRONG.

Rule #1- GH is ALWAYS correct.
Rule #2- When having ANY doubt, refer back to Rule #1.
Rule #3- NO rules other than #1 and #2 are EVER needed.
