New Most Needed SU BP motor poll

Out of the following SU BP motors, which is the most needed ?
There are several motors in the current Estes lineup I would give up for these.
DITCH entire B6 lineup, keep the B4 series, bring back the B4-6 also along with B14 or B8
Replace the C6-0,3 with C5-0,3
Replace the D12-0,3 with D20-0,3

I can whip up a 1/2A3-0T or 1/4A3-0T in a few minutes, but I'd love to see the rest of them produced!

I have a dozen diamond paks of 1/2A3-0Ts, so that wasn't my choice either.

The mention of the F50 reminded me of the old F50 Silver Streak BP motors. Those, plus the larger 38mm G160 and H220, were amazing. I brought a number of them home from LDRS in 1994. The passage of time was not kind to them, or the rockets carrying them. :)

I loved the F50. It was a very reliable motor for me. The H220's didn't seem to be as reliable, but it made for some interesting cluster HPR flights. Folks used to love to air start them with thermalite.

I'd get the most out of a D20-x, especially a D20-0!

I went through a lot of Rocketflite motors back in the day!

For me, the humble A-3-6T would work

ghrocketman 10-24-2018 10:48 AM

I didn't include the A3-6T in the list as this is a very "niche" engine useful to very few outside competition flying. The pool of competition fliers this would be useful for is a very small % of the very small rocket hobby community.

I'd like it back too, but realistically companies have to make profitable products.

I wouldn't mind having a few FSI D18's and D20's if they were reliable. The D18 was similar to a C5 (kick with a weak tail) and the D20 was like a C11 (kick and no tail). They were baby D's, around 12 or 13 Newton/s, but for someone like myself that does school demos on small playgrounds, they would be handy. Other than the C11, you have to cluster to get a good kick with low total impulse.

24mm high thrust D and 13mm B. Estes does not use mounts that allow different length motors so the B is unlikely. The D is immediately practical in an E case.
