Enerjet Motors
On July 4th, I went to my nephew's house for dinner and a block party fireworks display. A few of the houses were having garage sales also. Wasn't really interested until......some orange/black/white cylinders caught my eye. 3 Enerjet motors (no packaging or igniters) and 7 packs of Estes D motors in still sealed blue diamond tubes. I was the only one in the family to buy anything at the garage sale, but well worth it.

I've never run into that kind of luck. Good find.

When I was about 12, the local garbageman/city engineer retired. The golf course was buying his property and he had 30 years worth of collected junk, so he had a week long garage sale. I went whenever I could scrounge a couple of quarters and one of the things I picked up was a dirty old brass horse pull toy. I think it was $.25. I took it home and Mom loved it, so she cleaned it up and asked if it could go into her new curio cabinet. A couple of years later she took it to an antique dealer who offered her several hundred dollars for it. She had the feeling he was low-balling her, so she brought it home. I think she's had two curio cabinets since then, and it's been in all of them. |
