Stellar Lance Corporal info?

Anyone got a parts list/instructions for the Centuri Stellar Lance Corporal? It appears eRockets has the fin set but I can’t find body tube sizes, etc - not much available on the net.

Thanks in advance!

Length: 18.5"
Diam: .759" (ST-7 tube)
Streamer recovery

Two stage sounding rocket. Apparently it was made available only to Centuri's mail order customers, so it did not appear in the catalogs, only in their newsletter. With the fin set from erockets and the above information, should be easy enough to clone.

From the January 1975 Centuri Rocket Times:

Let us know how it turns out.

Bill,

Did you find anything on this? Please let me know.

I think I have some printouts of specs that Carl originally had on the Semroc website.

EDIT: The info on the Lancer upper stage is still up:

.

Nope - all I have is the Lancer info on the Semroc site.

Would appreciate anything you can provide!

I would appreciate anything you find as well.

It looks like the nose cone is the rounded BC-730P. The Semroc parts list calls it BC-730, but there is only 730G and 730P.

Newbomb,

I agree completely. The BC-730P is a direct substitute for Centuri's original PNC-76.

Bill,

I looked through my old printouts, but there wasn't anything else listed for the Lance Corporal than what little is still on the old Semroc site.

However, I think we can approximate the L-C nonetheless.

I recommend adding two ST-730s (one for the payload section, the other for the booster stage). You'll need a BTC-7 connector for the payload section, and an HTC-7B (don't forget the "B!") for the first stage.

(I also recommend substituting a single ST-790 for the original Lancer's ST-760 and ST-730 tubes. It'll save you the original internal HTC-7 connector.)

Attaching the first stage to the sustainer could be tricky, though. I recommend taking a look at Centuri's Black Widow to see how it was done on that model.

Granted, the B-W first stage body tube was 4" long instead of 3", but at least that's a start.

Please note the excerpt from my current documentation project below. Thanks!

Bill and Newbomb,

I remembered this post of mine from July 2011. Granted, this is a 1.37X ST-10 upscale, but it's the best I can come up with spur of the moment. :o

I'll have to do some additional research to see if I did a 1.00X version. ;)

Centuri Lance Corporal Instructions/Decals/Fins

All-

Attached below are PDFs of the two instructions sheets, fin and wood strips, and decals for the Centuri Lance Corporal.

The main instruction sheet (pdfs 1-2) were a single one-sided 11 x 17 sheet folded into 'quarters'.

Instruction sheets 3 and 4 were a single 8.5 x 11 sheet printed front and back.

The fins and wood strips are 1/16th balsa. Strips are 1/16th inch square.

Main body tube is 9 inches long. Booster tube and sustainer motor tube are the standard 3" lengths.

Decals have been scanned at 300 dpi jpeg (TIFF was beyond the 2mb upload limit).

Nose cone is the Centuri PNC-74, which has a more rounded tip that the previously mentioned PNC-76.

Hope this helps.

Earl

Great! You should submit all of that to YORP and/or JimZ's. Although it seems JimZ's is not being maintained, lots of bad links.

Thanks for the great info Earl!
