Why not allow for videos?

I've got a couple of video threads going on over a TRF, but the Cineroc one would have been a natural fit here...

Problem is, we can't include in-thread YouTube videos? Any chance we could get that changed?

Even though you cannot embed videos you can link to them. I don't want the rule changed because Fred Shecter would expose me to images against my will.

I absolutely agree with your reasoning.

No. He is running away from a small brush fire.

ATTENTION: This is a copy of a message I posted on the Southern California Rocket Association (NAR Section 430) YahooGroup
http://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/...cketNAR430/info

The Colby Fire is burning in the foothills above Azusa and Glendora near the Santa Fe Dam. They are currently using the area of the park that we use to launch for the command center to fight the fire (and scooping water from the park lake with Super Scooper aircraft and helicopters).

If they get the fire under control or out and leave the park we will launch, but if not, we will have to postpone the launch until next weekend. The park says that we can use Sunday, January 26 as an alternate launch day if necessary.

Stay tuned to the SoCalRocketNAR430 YahooGroup for an update and I will tweet out info as necessary.

Don't forget that there is also a class scheduled in Lakewood on Saturday, January 25, 2014. Call or e-mail Martin Bowitz to reserve a space (or spaces) for the class.

And MASSIVE thanks to everyone who came to the AMA Expo and helped staff the club booth and the Make & Take sessions. Estes provided an assortment of free kits that we distributed to our volunteers as a nice perk.

Subject: [NARTARC] Launch date now moved

As luck would have it, within 2 minutes of posting the last message I got a call from the Park officials at the Santa Fe Dam Recreational Area and they say the fire fighting command center will be in the park until this coming Tuesday, so our launch is postponed from January 19, 2014 until January 26, 2014.

If any TARC teams need to contact me for advice in the meantime, feel free to e-mail, call or text me.

Data driven Jerry

The fire is next door to my home town and I will find out tomorrow if my friend is one of the two houses that burned down. The CA Governor declared a state emergency over drought today as well.

The fire was started by a couple of homeless guys and a campfire in the forest by putting loose paper in it and it getting out of hand.

The old version of vBulletin I use here does not allow for that function. You can include videos the way Jerry lists in this thread.

Why don't you upgrade it? Surely by now you have made enough profit from this site to afford a measly upgrade fee.

Think how happy that would make us.

Upgrading is far more complicated than you think. It is a simple case of if it ain't broke don't fix it. I am with the admin on this one.

Look how much stuff has been lost to the ash heap over upgrades of the several other rocket sites over the years. In each case I offered to host a archive mirror before the upgrade and I was declined or ignored, or in some cases harassed. However, after all these years, there it would be sitting. Searchable and stable. The offer stands if any dead backups exist.

I but rattle said admin's cage.
