1/12 scale, the same scale as what is being offered in the paper model, is what I built and flew at the World Championships in Slovakia in 2012 (pics below). It required 4 D12's to fly safely, as can be seen in the video below.

The paper model being offered looks to be beautiful, and the boost protective cover and launch escape system could be flown, but would have to be considerably beefed up.
