Finished sanding. It was a lot of work, but nothing completely crazy. I didn't get perfectly into every nook and cranny, but I feel like overall it came out good enough. All the areas the felt rough after the gloss gray coat (especially the wings) feel smooth now, so the gray seems to have succeeded as sort of a filler/primer.

I wasn't trying to remove all the grey, just smooth it out and thin it down. In general, I stopped when I started to see white primer showing through.

Awaiting delivery of a can of Rusto 2x "Perfect Gray" for the repaint.
