I never had an Andromeda kit, but its depictions in the Estes catalogs http://www.ninfinger.org/rockets/no...a/76est026.html showed red or red-orange markings on its overall black hull. Since the catalog illustrations were composite color (also called spot color), it's possible--although it doesn't appear to have been in this particular case--that "in-between" or "combination" colors (such as red-orange) might have been represented somewhat inaccurately, at least in some cases. Also (especially in non-scale kits), might decals' colors have changed slightly over the production lives of long-produced kits, due to changing decal pigment availability and/or price (since Estes' kit decals were and are made in large quantities)?
