Finally here are the only pics I have from SWMRC 71 and 72 showing Larry Brown from EnerJet/Centuri demonstrating the X-24 Bug, the Enerjet AeroDart and Nike-Ram.

I *think* he flew the SatV/X-24 in 71 and my old Brownie camera just couldn't keep up...in 73 I finally had a decent camera (Minolta SRT-101) with a fast shutter speed and SLR so I could see what I was shooting

I also *did* see Larry Brown from Centuri fly the X-24 bug on top of a Saturn V at one of the SWMRC, unfortunately, I did not take pictures that year...

So this was a powered 2nd stage, not a DART? REALLY cool seeing (or NOT seeing) the smokeless exhaust!

Agreed, great pictures David.

Did anyone notice the Enerjet Egg Crate on the pad in this picture taken by David?

Color documentation.

Yes, the 1973 rocket was two staged EnerJets! IIRC the top of that stage was an unpowered dart, but I won't swear to that. If I can dig up the paper he presented at the SWMRC it might have more details.*

The 1972 model was single stage, with an unpowered dart. He had a contact switch that started a deployment timer when the dart separated from the booster.

*EDIT: found the paper Gary presented in 73 at a symposium hosted by the Air Force Academy

Bob, I wouldn't swear that is a Centuri demo model on the pad...we were flying some competition flights that day IIRC.

This image is my contribution to the 1340 fin can thread, and possible colors. The one in the package looks very pink. And no, this is not my stash of kits. Really don't remember where I got this image from.

WOW !
What a pic of unbuilt bagged Enerjet Kits.
Would really like that Athena, Aero Dart, and Egg Crate.

The original EJ kit packaging was boxes. When they went to bagged kits it was an EOL thing. I suspect that 1340 is legit but they were out of red by that time. I have not seen red since. The Schwede photos in this thread are clearly red.
