Default Night flying lights! (link)

Hello All,

I just came across *these* http://www.ebay.ca/itm/253955217798...m&s=ci&mail=sys 12 mm diameter LED balloon lights, whose transparent casings even look like nose cones (the Titan IIID and the SS-18 ICBM/Dnepr nose cones). There are plenty of other eBay vendors of these lights, which are available in multiple colors and are cheap enough (10 for about 1 dollar, *including* the postage) to experiment with for night flying.

CMASS has a night flying night on the last launch of the season in November. I bought these lights to attach to my rocket to be able to fly that night. I have pic's somewhere and will post them here if I can find them or you could go onto CMASS web site and look up any November flight log. A few years back, Boris had his UFO's on the cover of Model Rocketry Magazine with flight shot's of his models. Very cool to see and hear!

Oh--those are even ready-to-use helicopter recovery payloads (like the Estes "Bailout," but with a helicopter-lowered instead of a parachute-lowered eject-able payload)! If I was still running Nova Hobbies (my model rocket company), I would buy them in bulk quantities and offer them both for sale, and as bonus items with model rocket kits. Please *do* post those CMASS night flying session photos! The artistic (and yes, UFO hoax... :-) ) photographic opportunities afforded by these LED-equipped helicopter projectile toys--both tied to rockets, and auto-rotating down by themselves after ejection--are practically endless. Both fast-shutter and time exposure still pictures, as well as videos, would make for pretty images.
