Default Canaroc Starcruiser Warlock

Has anyone ever cloned this beauty? I am considering that project; Gordy has the decals. I can match up the parts myself, I think; it is quite an involved futuristic design. Sunward makes the Gravity Rider, which is a near-copy of the Canaroc Starship Antares, and Sunward also makes the Galactic Wave, a near-copy of the Canaroc Starfighter Scorpion.

These are all three handsome futuristic designs. To my knowledge, there is no clone of the Starcruiser Warlock.

I have an Orbitron that is in partial build form, also won on Epray.

Thanks,
Allen

Edit: Found a great thread here.

That one is quite the behemoth.
Not sure I'd want to try to clone it.
Incidentally, I think the poster that built that kit may have unfortunately passed a few years back, so I would not expect a response from Arley. He always had interesting builds.

Yes, there is such a thing as NORMAL
, if you have to ask what is "NORMAL" , you probably aren't !

Failure may not be an OPTION, but it is ALWAYS a POSSIBILITY.
ALL systems are GO for MAYHEM, CHAOS, and HAVOC !

Yes, Arley passed away in December '08

Not high on the list to clone as the design was a little unstable.

I never knew that! Well, THAT tends to tame ones enthusiasm a bit!
Any ideas as to how to make one more stable?

I'll be happy to complete the Orbitron and both of your other offerings just fine. They look great in the bag! I hope to start later on this holiday weekend.
BTW, why did you folks quit making the jet-like rockets? Just curious here.

Thanks for the input.

I think a lot of Canaroc's more exotic designs were unstable.
Barone's Orbitron was unstable--see post #49 of this thread http://forums.rocketshoppe.com/showthread.php?t=1471

Allen, I've got all the original Canaroc Starfleet kits in the boxes, and would be glad to measure anything you'd like.

The Warlock, especially, is a big kit, and, as has been pointed out, is only quasi-stable. Sure looks pretty on the box and painted up as a "desktop model"...just not sure I'd want to loft it.

The problem is where the engine goes - in the centre. I have not flown or built one. My information comes from others.

Problem with the nose cone mould. I may finally fix the problem but it depends on the economy.

I had the misfortune of cloning that particular model and testing its stability. What's left of it is still sitting in the garage. For those of you unfamiliar with the kit, its actually a boost glider. And a nice looking one at that. If you can modify it so the motor is to the rear of the rocket instead of where the plans put it (at base of glider), it might be stable enough. It's not going to get very high on a D12 but if you look at using a composite E, you might get a good flight and glide out of it. Just don't make it pretty until AFTER you've flown it.......

Hi all, just wanted to say I just put a Starfleet Warlock up on the Bay along with a bunch of other rare rockets. Just search for the Warlock and you will find me because it's the only one there. Strait Up!
