Default Estes Denver motor for sale

For sale: 1/2A.8-4 rocket motor manufactured by Estes Industries while the company was still located on 5505 Tejon St. in Denver, CO. To my knowledge, a Denver motor very rarely comes up for sale. Motor markings are very easy to read. Motor unfired. Accepting offers.

These really aren't that rare. There's a goofball on eBay right now offering one claiming it's the holy grail and asking $2500. Actual worth is $5-$10. That's what they'd sell for at a NARAM Canon auction.

I'd pay more than $10, but yes, Andy is out to lunch on his asking price of $2500.

Maybe worth $25, but not even close to $2500.
They are getting rare but that does not necessarily translate into worth.
A mint condition 1974 Ford Pinto is rare, but it's still next to worthless.

Yeah, too true! There's always someone with more money than brains. It's getting your item in front of that person that's the hard part. That's why many of these sellers that start an item out at an exorbitant price just keep relisting it, over and over again. Back in the day when Ebay charged for a listing up front (whether the item sold or not) this practice was discouraged. Now there's no downside to it.

A couple of weeks ago the same seller got almost $400 for a Phantom Electrolaunch, built and with no photoflash batteries. I wouldn't pay that much for one in a sealed kit. They are very scarce, but not exceptionally rare. In fact, his sale at that price managed to pull another one out of the woodwork.........

Verna had a Pinto when we graduated from high school and I was glad when she got rid of it. I was always afraid it would explode just sitting in the driveway, or worse, if she got hit.

I'd be willing to bet that if you bought the motor and the Pinto, the Pinto would cato first!
