I'm done with TRF. Bad enough it's been taken over by non rocketeers interested only in milking it for ad revenue, but even worse is their lying about their intentions.

Guys, I'm just not seeing it. TRF had a hiccup a couple days ago, but the performance of the site is pretty good overall. The ads don't bother me because after years of seeing ads everywhere, I am pretty good at mentally filtering them out and not paying any attention to them. I tried to evaluate the site based on what I read in this thread, but I'm not seeing it.

Maybe when the "do this one weird trick" ads appear, with the eye candy, then I'll be a bit bothered.

It's just the whiners whining, everything is working fine. Banners at the top and bottom, no big deal. I wonder, now that it's under new ownership, if the eternally ****ed would be let back in? Macklin does a pretty good job mixing it up, but I do miss those classic GH rants of days gone by!

I agree. As someone said, the only thing worse than the ads is the constant whining about them. Now we have these threads reducing the signal/noise ratio on BOTH sites.

Nope, the worse thing is the site owners lying about them.

It's obviously fubar-ing some folks browsers, while not being an issue to others, such as yourself. Unfortunately, two people can use the same browser and operating system, but due to version and configuration differences or even ISP's, one may have a serious issue with the ads while the other doesn't.

This is the one thread where a significant problem was brought to light instead of just "whining". Maybe you should kick back with a Leinenkugel and view threads that don't have "TRF" in the title instead of whining about the whining.

Edit: Forgot about them defacing Shrox's artwork. This makes two significant issues.

It seems that some people are seeing more ads than I am. I have yet to see an image, shrox's or anyone else's, with an ad over it.
