Default Estes Condor #????

I'd love a shot at buying a vintage condor; the single glider one. I built one in the '70's and flew it more than any other. One of the first I ever painted myself -Yes several birds sporting the striking balsa and phenolic color scheme were seen on my launch pads in those days!!
Any help?

Well, you could clone one (plans here)

But if you are like me some of the classics that I had or wished for I had to build from original kits. They occasionally come up on ebay.

Agreed:

My buddy Henry had one when we we little and it was a good flyer that was relatively indestructable even in hard desert landings. Easy to build, easy to paint and super easy to trim for a good glide. Mini engine power so four flights per outing. If I remember right, he left off the tip fins on the mothership so it'd look more like the glider.

I hadn't thought about that one in years; might think about cloning it. . . .

Thanks for the tips! I have plans to follow; I got them maybe 12 years ago on my last whim. When I saw some of the build projects here, and one had done an original, I thought I'd ask.
I remember being astounded that mine flew so well. The mini-motor design was definitely a plus for a 12 year old's budget. I'll put a watch on ebay. I built the 'V2' version of the Condor for my kids in the early 90's, who also loved it. But the original was all mine!!
Post if you find one!!

The Condor was my second rocket and my first BIG rocket. I have several clones in 13, 18 and 24mm, and a tattered old original still in the package that I keep thinking about building. Definitely one of my favorites. I flew mine quite a bit at VOA in the early 2000's. Something bad always seemed to happen to the gliders. Cyclone fencing, Porta-Potties, everything had it in for my Condor gliders.

Well when you get ready to off-load that 'tattered old original', how about giving me a shout!

It's funny. My first two rockets were the Beta and the Condor, and I picked up ragged, still sealed examples of both on Ebay within a couple of days of each other. The hang tags on both looked like mice had started nesting with them, but the seals were good, the tubes were round, and everything was present and accounted for. Since I planned to build both of them, the condition of the hang tag didn't matter.
