Help identifying some rockets
I inherited a box of damaged rockets that I'm rebuilding/scavenging and need help identifying two of them (see attached photo). Specifically, the tall one 2nd from the right and small one on its side in the foreground. The tall one has three plastic strap-on doohicky's, one of which has been replaced with the gold thing. I KNOW I've seen this before but now that I want to find it, I can't.
TIA

The small white one is an Estes Quasar. The yellow one looks like an Estes Fatboy. The big white one in the middle is an MRC Concept II Ironman with a different booster. http://www.ninfinger.org/rockets/nostalgia/mrc02.html The tall white one has a Quest Nike Smoke nosecone that has been used on several rockets, but I'm not familiar with that rocket. I'm also not familiar with the one that's laying on its side.

The one laying on it's side is an Estes Javelin kit #2005.

Thanks for the replies! I obviously knew about the Fatboy and I figured out the Quasar. For some reason when I looked for the Javelin I thought what I saw had a different fin pattern...but I must have looked at the wrong thing. The MRC kit was the harder one and I didn't look at that manufacturer. BTW, I added the gold pod to replace the missing stock one. It was the best candidate out of my 'junk box'. As for the rocket with the 'Smoke cone, it is now the Tiny Tim Smoke, being cobbled back together from an incinerated WAC. It turns out the Quest tube fits over the Tin Tim's body like a glove, and the 'Smoke cone was what I had that fit.
Thanks again, Dick

1. a somewhat shortened Estes Fat Boy. 2. An Estes Quasar, later model with white (not chrome) parts, also hard to tell, but the fin unit doesn't look clipped (in other words, they're just white Alpha III fins), so they are the very late Quasars. 3. An MRC Concept II Iron Man, from this angle it looks like all the pods have been replaced, not just the one. 4. probably a kitbash of a quest kit. Is that a plastic fin can? 5. An Estes Javelin, stock #2005 from the late 80's.

I'm pretty sure the other two are originals based on the link provided earlier. 4. probably a kitbash of a quest kit. Is that a plastic fin can? The fin can appears to be plastic, but the builder, unlike the re-builder (me), did such a good job that I can't tell just by fondling it. The tip of the Tiny Tim was plastic but it could have been an add-on. I added the Quest tube and cone.

royatl beat me to the punch on the Fat Boy.
It has definitely been shortened; why anyone would REDUCE the length of a Fat Boy is beyond me though. They are stubby enough as is stock. Maybe it pranged due to someone flying it on a C6-7 instead of a C6-3 and the front end of the tube was crumpled.

Actually, the Fatboy is the stock length. It looks squatty in the photo due to the perspective I guess. BTW, it's a 3 x 18mm cluster and, if you look at the tick marks on the body tube, has flown 33 times. It has lots of battle scars. Evidence that all the fins had been broken at some point, a repaired zipper, and evidence of multiple shock cord attachment points. I had to repair one fin (again) and I added a Kevlar leader through the wall. It's ready for flight #34!

It takes some serious effort to zipper a rocket that short.

33 flights on a clustered FatBoy ???
Sheesh ! That one is due for retirement. Most of my rockets get retired from flight status somewhere between 10 and 20 flights. Not all of them though; if they are something special, they may stay in the rotation, but generic 3FNC stuff, no.
