Default Estes Pershing 1A Nose Cone

Anyone out there have an Estes Pershing 1a nose cone they would be willing to part with. Unpainted would be preferred. I am willing to pay or trade for this item.

You can get a turned balsa version from sandman. If you are looking for fiberglass, I bought a Pershing set from this guy a few years back -- bought the nose cone and fin set. Pretty nice, fit BT-101, but warning, they are heavier than balsa or plastic. I am not sure if he is still around, but the PDF has his email address.

The ones I turn are in three pieces and hollowed out to save weight and conserve material, although you will have to add weight to them to get the model to fly right..

Keep in mind that it is a MASSIVE block of balsa to begin with, and balsa prices just took another big jump.

So the nose cone is expensive at $65.00 a pop!

Actually the BT-80 version flies a lot better than the BT-101 version.

In the second picture my BT-80 version is the one in the middle.

Your balsa cone looks really nice. I've already built an Estes Honest John and V2 from original parts and I would like to make a Pershing to complete the set. I have access to the rest of the parts, so I would really like and original cone if at all possible.

John,

any way to make copies of the fin sets ?

resin cast or ? - I;d try to pull a mold if anyone has a fin set they;d loan out

I have the alien enterprises ( Ed Miller ) nosecone, very well done and fits the thin walled BT101 ( not an HPR tube ) .
it IS heavier, but as the pershing needs noseweight anyways, not a huge deal .

someday wish to build a Pershing up, as I had and lost an original back in the 80s .

so many projects, so lil time.....

I believe I can get a set of fins for the Pershing, and if not I can always make a master and then caste some parts. The original nose cone is the hard part.

I'll second Sandman's Pershing nose cone, I have one of the BT-80's and it is a work of art.

I've had my sandman Pershing nose cone for 2 (or is it 3?) years. Since Michigan is humid, and Colorado is dry, I'm thinking it may have finally acclimated to the dryness here, and I could possibly start building ...
