Exhaust flame painting
I am almost finished with my EFT 1 and I am having a mental block on how to paint the Finn tubes to look like proper rocket exhaust. I open it up to a tone with an opinion.http://www.oldrocketforum.com/attac...chmentid=&stc=1

It looks like you are looking to paint the tubes the clear fins are attached to.
I've painted the flame fins a few ways: http://modelrocketbuilding.blogspot...ins-part-5.html Search for NASA launch pictures online. The flame goes from bright white to yellow to gray .

You can do it w a rattle can but you have to go REALLY fast ( like whip the can past what you're painting) and REALLY light... Its VERY easy to put on too much paint or in the wrong place... Re.ember you can always add more paint, but you can't take any away... Also recommend you work "backward" from the part w more paint to the edge where the colors blend... That's how I did it in some of my zooch build threads...
Later! OL JR
