EagleWorks Tavia
As promised here are the plans for the Tavia. I updated the instructions with Semroc part numbers. I've flow it with B6-4's and I "think" a C6-5. My memory is hazy there.
EDIT 3-19-11 Plans are updated and posted here; http://www-personal.umich.edu/~buzznau/plans.html

Nice looking kit Buzz, perhaps you should bag it for resale

Thanks Danny. I'd love to see a pic of yours when it's built.
Yeah Mike, I thought about kitting it and that's what kept me from releasing the plans for so long. Since that hasn't happened in the past couple years I figured I might as well let it out. There's always the Intrepid.

If i could say something, with the look of the design, it looks more like the name "eagle's talon" more than a "Tavia". but I am putting a SEMROC order together right now, and I'll try to get a picture as soon as it's built. are there decals w/ the plans? they didn't load all the way the first time i looked at them, and so I was out of town and haven't looked since. Thanks for getting the plans out here, and hopefully one will be joining my fleet soon.

Thanks again Danny.
No decals were ever done up for that kit. We didn't get that fare with that design before I left THOY. I used a bunch of left overs from other rockets and plastic kits as well as some trim monokote for the one in the photo. I kinda like the name you came up. More fitting to be sure. I think I forgot to mention the balsa thickness for the kit. It's 3/32". I'll update the plans and reload. Buzz

Here's a QnD RS file for the kit. I'd stick with the PDF for the fin patterns, though the RS file is pretty close.
UPDATE - 3-19-11 - I finally got around to making actual CG and mass measurements from the actual rocket. Mass is 79gm and CG ready for flight w/out motor is 12.9" from the nose tip. I set these measurements in the RSIM and replaced the one in this post with version 1.3. Part of the discrepancy is likely my use of Estes plastic nose cones for the pods. At the time I built this that was the only matching pair of BT-20 cones I had laying around. Regardless, anyone building one of these per the plans should add nose weight to match the sim. I'll update the plans and reload those later. Buzz

Buzz, you said you've flown this design with B6-4's and "maybe" a C6-5? Don't mean to throw cold water, but I'm getting static margins of 0.33 with the B6, and 0.09 with the C6. (Barrowman) Using RS calculations, the B6 still only shows 0.73, and the C6 shows 0.49... FWIW, I just updated RS to the latest build, 9.1.0.111...

Try using the rocksim equations. It's a little more generous. I can load up mine and measure the CG to see what difference there is. Like I said, it's a QnD RS file and yes, it's always flown stable.
