Default BT-70 Goblin

29mm engine. I finished off the remnants of the paint I used on the ill-fated Semroc Moon Glo and Estes Mini Max. Decals are the standard inkjet type, blowed up real good to BT-70 size. It's flyable as it stands, but the nose cone needs another coat of smoke grey metallic and I still have to epoxy on the 29mm motor retainer. At least I'll have one new thing finished to fly if the cornfield launch goes off as planned in a few weeks.

That was part of the inspiration. I originally went with neon yellow, but it's been done so much and the coverage wasn't what I'd hoped for. Kind of uneven, no matter how even I tried to be with the rattle can. I started thinking metallic after reading a post on the Model Rocket Building blog http://modelrocketbuilding.blogspot...ate-part-1.html and realized that I still had some of the green left. I went and found pics of the two rockets I'd finished using the green metallic and figured that the black decals would show up fine.

You have me looking at my ordinary yellow Goblin, and thinking it to be a bit dull. I like it. That's just Rustoleum metallic green paint?

No, it's Testor's Model Master Metallic. Can't remember for sure here at work, but I think it was Sublime Green.

The color looks great on the big Goblin.

What happened to the Moon-Glo? That was a cool little rocket and it too, looked good in that green.

Asphalt landing. It overflew B6-4 Field and I found it two blocks away in a parking lot. Still flyable, but no longer drop dead gorgeous.

Bill,
Your Goblin looks great. Is there anything sweeter than getting a FREE paint job from a half used can ? "Not in My spray booth there isn't ". One small suggestion, MORE BATS ! This will surely pump up the style and increase altitude .

Thanks, Steve. I actually have several more bats sitting here at the table. I didn't want to "overbat" it, but I think you may be right about the altitude.
