This is another quality design by Estes with excellent fitting balsa parts. The balsa and laser cutting is a major step up from the old die crunch days, this bird went together fast. I built this model with white glue throughout but any wood glue would work. The only complaint I have is the directions are not very descriptive, but I think most builders on this website would not have any issues. Newer builders may be a little confused by the lack of words in the directions. All the balsa parts interlock and that keeps everything nice and square, the kit also includes some balsa jigs to assist with trueness. The missiles are the same ones that come with the Estes Eagle kit. The rocket is pretty heavy coming in at 2.3oz as shown, still have to apply sealer, primer and paint....ouch. I may just add filler to the laser cut slots to fill the voids and apply thinned dope before painting but this will still leave grain. I will have to think about this.

I like seeing clean work! Fillets - everything very clean.
Thanks for taking the time to post the build.

Using white glue is probably a good idea on these tabbed piece models.
On my QCC Explorer I used CA to hold all the curved pieces together.
Problem was the CWF filler wouldn't stick in any of the CA'd tab recesses!

I think any filler would stick better to the white glue like you used.

Looking forward to the fill and paint posts.

I like it! It kinda reminds me of the Firefox.

Maybe add some canards.
