For sport rockets I am wont to invest too much in alignment. The Estes jig sets the fin line at the base of the tube, a piece of aluminum angle that is 1/2 x 3/4 runs the line down the BT, and if the fin TE extends below the BT then span opposing pairs with a tongue blade and a pair of lightweight plastic spring clamps. The opposing alignment is best done after about five minutes of cure on the white glue before the parts lock up. Once set the pieces generally hold true.

I never used one of those jigs before. How accurate are they and do they have any limitations as far as rocket designs and body tube diameters? The only thing I used was their ruler fin alignment jig with the body tube disc markers

Did you watch the video that Doug Sams made and posted on Youtube?

My prototype jig, as shown in the video and pictures that I posted on the website where you are a moderator, will accomodate body tubes from BT20 through BT80 with as many fins as you want (three or more). The prototype is a proof of concept model for demonstration purposes only and is not for sale. As such, it has some construction flaws which affect its accuracy. These flaws are being corrected in the final version and will produce a very accurate device suitable for any conventional rocket design, be it a kit or scratch built.

Do you still want to purchase one at the special introductory price?

The SPECIAL INTRODUCTORY PRICE will be $34.00 until such time as the first six (6) completed units are gone.

The postage will be USPS Parcel Post at my actual cost from ZIP Code 76201 to your ZIP Code. The package is 20 x 8 x 8 inches and weighs 4 lbs, 0 ozs. , so you can figure the postage by visiting the USPS website and using their rate calculator. I am not including any insurance and if you want it it would be extra.

I will accept personal checks (after they have cleared my bank) and Money Orders only.
