Default CAD file for Trident or Snooper?

Hey, does anyone have a CAD file for Trident or Snooper fins? Looking to get fins from BMS. Heck, why not Sprite too.

Is BMS doing custom cutting again? Last time I checked with Bill he made it sound as if he wasn't going to....

Are you talking like AutoCAD? or one of the rocket program?

BMS does bulk wholesale custom. I am looking for those files as he can ingest several CAD program formats since he actually uses Corel. I don't do CAD. But I seem to do HTML and arbitrary drawing in some programs, but Trident is a curvy shape more suited to a CAD file. I hesitate to ask John.

I would cheerfully send any contributors a half price upscale kit with free shipping. I could use the build photos for the website. Or in John's case a couple of free ones.

What I have in mind is a 2.25"/1.22" Trident, a 1.34"/4" Sprite, a 2.7"/6" Sprite, a Mars Snooper with a wide range of AIR-4 style tube shrouds including 3", 2.6", 2.25" and a main tube of 2.25/1.64". Pretty complicated actually. I would characterize it as a skill level 5 build.

Jerry,

I've got a Trident in the works that sounds like it is using about the same tubes. I started this is the 90s, when I got some "mid-sized" tubing from Matt Steele dirt cheap. Didn't matter to me, all cones would be custom. My recollection was that this was maybe 2.23" dia. I had BMS make a few cones., including upscaling the 50J nose cone on the Trident's lower body tube. BMS did not have an accurate sample, so their upscale didn't look right. I sent Bill an original and his new 50J and upscale were accurate. He should be able to make those if you are using him for custom nose cone nes. I still need to turn the rocket cones on the top side of the three ducting tubes. This has sat for years but I'm kinda getting interested in completing. This picture is just the parts spread out. The ducting tubes need lengthening. I think the cones on the upper tube are swapped in this picture, they don't look right. The lower cone is longer than the upper cone on the original.

I really should get this done. Unfortunately, I have nothing in CAD. It's all upscale do manually with calculator in hand. I've done nothing on fins yet.

Mine will use similar but not exact cones for interchangeability. My upscales are more like +- 5% sort of thing. My Starlight 2.7 is a work of art as a product. If I could send one to Vern, I certainly would.

I just need a CAD guy to make BMS compatible files.

BTW those tubes you got from Matt were original ACE tubes.

Well seeing that I have a Mars Snooper in the build Process Mars Snooper Build
And a Trident awaiting final paint, (that thread seems to have been on the old Cantina)
and a set of Sprite fins ordered when SemRoc was going away, and that I am a CAD draftsman during my day job, I might be coaxed into making the files.

Interesting about the tubes. All I recall is that they were $1 each, and I think 34" long, but maybe 30". Haven't looked at the full tubes in a decade or so ...
I still have 7-8 of them. Every use of them is a bit of a challenge since I must make my own centering rings and nose cones.

I'll be interested to see pictures of your new creations.
