Wood-case Launch Controller
I built myself another launch controller, using 1/4" thick wood this time (basically, I used most of one lattice strip). I've posted details on my launch controller page, but here's a picture of the finished unit:

I built my launch controller out of wood too. I'll post a picture of it in a day or two.

Grossly Overkill Wooden Cased Launcher
This is the launch controller our HPR club built a few years ago. I did the case, it's oak, and has routed grooves on the top to keep the LCO/RSO pens and pencils handy.
This launcher is microprocessor controlled, with LCD diplay. It handles dual banks of 16 pads, and has LAN to communicate with the relay boxes at the pads. The battery boxes chirp different tones to indicate continuity state, etc. Also note the microphone jack (for podium mic), used with speakers on stands at the edges of the field for nice, loud launch announcements. Shows what a bunch of guys can do when time and budget seem to have no bounds. Me? I bailed from HPR, and I have an old Estes Launcher now that I'm doing model rocketry again. I guess it all comes full circle.
