Didn't the rules say you can enter as many models as you wish?

Actually, the very first rule is "Anybody can enter any number of rockets". (Note to John's competitors: there is a limit to how many rockets he can fit in his vehicle for the trip down here!) Last edited by Jim9199 : 05-17-2017 at 11:50 PM. |

Actually, the person who built that C to K upscale is coming to NSL, and is planning to bring that rocket. They aren't going to let John claim the HPR division without a fight! ;-) |

Bernard,
I need you to do a mid-power entry. I might be the only one so far!

Well....I'm not going to build any more models between now and Tuesday for this. So....assuming I bring the big Nova Payloader, I'll have two C upscale to E (Alpha, Aphelion) and one C to G (the Nova Payloader). As I understand what's "mid power", all three would be in that bucket.
Note to Jim: John isn't the only one who has a limitation on how many models will fit in the car along with the rest of what is needed for a three-week road trip. My car is smaller (Mazda 3 5-door).

Two questions for you Jim:
First - may an example of the original-sized model be used as documentation? Second - for color and markings judging - is the intent to have the model reproduce the original kit's face card color scheme? For the 1967 Alpha there is no face card - but the color scheme is described in the instructions. I suppose I could furnish a copy of that. I haven't painted the upscale Aphelion yet - sprayed primer late this morning, and the two examples I have (one signed by Carl McLawhorn at NSL in 2013) do not match the face card scheme for that kit.....

Excellent! Sounds like if you enter at least two models, plus my one, we have mid power covered. I'm optimistic today's snow storm here will clear up and I'll be able to get painting done. Otherwise I'll pack a dropcloth and paint it in the hotel ... Jim, are there any other attendees that have decided to enter the mid-power category?

I've got one F powered model and two H Powered Models. I could probably fly my H powered ones on G if needed.

Thanks John,
I'm hoping the contest/competition is a little more than 3 or 4 of us. But I'll still fly my Super OT. The idea of a competition got me to get this old project off the back burner and completed.
