Default FSI Clone Suggestions

If someone had some old F100-8 engines, and knew nothing about FSI, what would be a good clone to use them in? I was never had any FSI kits so I'm pretty clueless when it comes to their models.

Well, answering my own question, after looking over the Semroc website it appears that my only choice is the Oso. Semroc has the nose cone and tubes for this one.

The Black Brant is cool (I like Black Brants) but the nose cone and tail cone aren't available

Unless Gordon could make those. Hmm, I wonder.

The FSI Nike Smoke would also be a good choice. The F100 would give it a scale flight profile too. However, you'd have to turn that nosecone also.

We have most of the parts, including nose cone, tail cone, fins, tubes, but I do not have the bill of material updated.

Since you may end up losing it, the Voyager http://www.oldrocketplans.com/fsi/fsi1004/fsi1004.htm or OSO http://www.oldrocketplans.com/fsi/fsi1005/fsi1005.htm would be the least expensive/easiest to build.

I'd ask Carl about the FSI cones. Many times he has items he hasn't had a chance to post yet. Fin templates are on my site so you don't "have" to have laser cut fins. I've got most of the FSI kit plans up on YORP.

Kurt,

I forgot to add... Please let me know when you plan to launch it. I'd like to be there!

At the March sod farm launch. That is, if the powers that be let me do so. You saw the email thread on that

You sure do have most of them up there, that is great. I wouldn't want balsa fins anyway since I dearly hate balsa in all its forms. I'd make basswood ones.

These would have been my two suggestions as well. Those were my two favorites to use for F100-8 flights.

I have to go with the OSO.

one I loved back in the day, had a few of those.

would fly good on an F100-8

an 8 sec delay is a lil long for the BB II, especially with F100 being an E and change...

grab the Semroc kit, and send her up
