Any idea when the Dr. Zooch LBS will be available on your site? As soon as it is I'll order one, plus an Equinox, an S.L.V., and a P.O.N.G!

Mike,

What are the actual dimensions for the S.L.V.? Surely it is not BT-20 at the fin unit...
I'll be ordering that and a Dr.Zooch lifting body.

Chas

Looks like it might be a BT-60, transitioning to a BT-20, and then transitioning to a BT-55 (bottom to top). But Mike would surely know the dims.

Is the company still run by Andy Gnidziejko?

Any reactions to the P.O.N.G.? I think that it is kind of cool looking, actually. With the ping-pong ball nose cone, I wonder...could it be a Shrox design?

I like the new Equinox. Funny coincidence about that: I recently ordered a couple of nose cones and other parts from Custom, including a PC-60 cone that I wanted to use in a clone of the discontinued Equinox that I was going to build. I was also going to give my clone a 24mm mount, because I couldn't imagine launching that beast on a black powder C. When the package arrived from Custom, it included two very handsome looking flyers/catalogs. One flyer showed all of their kits as of mid-2008, and the other flyer showed their 7 new kits. That was when I found out that Custom had re-released the Equinox.

Let's see; I could use the Equinox parts to clone an Estes Mean Machine, but it wouldn't have that new tube connector that the current re-released MM has. Maybe a Thunder-Roc, then? But I would have to shorten it a little, and I'm not sure, but I might have to get a different nose cone. Still, the Roc is very cool-looking. And another option would be to go ahead and build a cloned Equinox, but give it an 18mm mount and make it a "classic" version. Wonder how that will fly? I could use 18mm composite SU motors and reloads in it, but that might give it TOO much performance, especially considering the small fields that I fly on.

Wait! I know - what about a triple 18mm cluster? Time to fire up RockSim!

The "pong" is not mine, is should get credit for all ping pong related uses in rocketry though...
