Rocketariun just released an 18mm BB III. I believe it's slightly larger than the upcoming Estes kit. Available at the Canadian Rocket Store (allrockets.ca). They also have a couple of new BB IV kits, 24mm powered. Beauty, eh?

According to the photo, those Alpha plastic parts have a red metallic finish. If so, they could just as easily have a chrome finish.

I think you older guys know where I'm going with this.

Trivia:

Estes was sold to Damon in 1969, as most of us know.
Motorola sold its TV production (Quasar) to Matsu****a Electric (Panasonic) in 1974.
The Estes Quasar appeared in catalogs (Citation series) in 1971 and disappeared in 1985, though it did go through changes along the way.

Apparently Motorola was building TV's in Quincy, Illinois. When they pulled out, it really hurt the town. It took them years to recover. I was calling on that area in the 89-98 time frame. It was booming again, with lots of paging technology driving the biz. Needless to say, not long after, the pager biz took a dump and the town was hurt once again

FWIW, we bought a Motorola Quasar TV around 1971 or 72 - our family's first color TV It had the famous "works in a drawer". All the circuits were solid state - no more tubes except for the picture.

Fourteen years is a loooong run for a model rocket. And in the latest "eBay silliness" dept:

https://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-Es...AAOSw~jpbMVs P

And yes, we had a Quasar TV about the same time as well.
