They were in the process of closing down at the time (Chinese competition was killing them), but Googling their name just now, I was happily surprised to discover that they were saved by explosives, for which they now make the tubes--an article whose link is in the first URL above covers it. If memory serves, they also make spiral-wound "body tube-type" paper tubes.

Thanks for posting the article about the resurrection of New England Paper Tube Company. They make the finest convolute wound paper tubes that I know of and are essential for successfully constructing pressed powder motors. NEPT is a wholesaler but I was able to purchase their pyro tubing products here:

You're welcome. I imagine they might also have been the ones who made the colored paper motor tubes for Estes (I recall pale green ones) in the early 1970s (for some reason--I forget why--the regular paper wasn't available for a time, and the colored paper worked for making motor tubes, too). Also, thank you for posting Hobby Horse's website address here (and I--of course--thoroughly approve of their name...).

<thread drift> I was surprised to see HobbyHorse was still around. They seemed to be dying quite a few years ago. I bought my Multiplex Evo8 R/C transmitter from them back when they were hard to find and before Multiplex and HiTec merged.

I also didn’t know they sold pyrotechnic supplies..... </thread drift>
