Default Vintage Estes Long John Silver Build

My next Estes build is a old kit that I have never seen in a Estes catalog. From the looks of things, I would guess early 80s. This kit is in great condition, easy to clone but I will build it out of the box. This rocket is almost 3 ft tall.

Post-1980, for sure. The kit is an 18mm remake of the #1271 Renegade, which the kit list says was produced from 1975 to 1980. It never showed up in the regular catalogs; I looked back through the Ninfinger collection from 1980 through 1989 and found no reference to it.

Cool! Scan everything!
The old Renegade was a great performer. I had no idea they rethought the design, but I have seen this somewhere before.

This would be a great bird for B6-4 Field. I can imagine giving it a try on a C6-5 up there and getting it back.

Two questions:
1. What kind of altitude does it get on the C6-5?
2. Where did you fly that had its own set of bleachers?

A) I think I'm coming in somewhere in the 500-600ish range.

B) That picture was taken at the AMA field at Muncie. Probably make at least one trip this summer since primary (Corn) field will be otherwise occupied.

Needs a 29mm mount, not an 18.

ROCI will be having it's spring Central Indiana Regional Fun Fly (CIRFF) in Muncie in early May.

This is the same field that was used for 2007 NSL and is a great launch site.
CIRFF is a 2 day event. Vendors will be on site, including "Yours Truly" .

Info should be avaliable at www.indyrockets.org . If y'all need more info, feel free to join in and ask on the club forum on the site.
