Default New Estes Alien Invader

Here is a picture of the new Alien Invader. It is a high quality kit with excellent parts. The best part is it comes with brown tubes vs the white tubes. The nose is right on when compared to my 1979 original. There are some subtle differences as with all the newly released kits. 1. The decal has some minor changes, but very minimal and most people won't be able to tell. 2. The directions call for the wings to be completely in-line with each other. The original called for the tips to be lower than the root edge. Once again, small differences and a wonderful kit. This will be my next build after the Nike and Magician.

sweet...I ordered one late last week so it should be on the way.

Was sad to see they are still putting those crappy orange parachutes in them....I was hoping for the new printed ones to be in the new kits. I guess they have to get rid of them some way.

Is that it for the decals? (3) all black?

The first look we got of the new kit showed a plain balsa cone, IIRC. It's good to see that they went with the original cone style.

BTW, the new Photon Disruptor I got today has what looks like a good quality brown tube. I'll open it after while and take a good look.

Yup. I'm very happy to see the original plastic cone.

Now if they'd make the Payloader II re-issue in the original ST-10 size vs BT-50, we'll be all set!

Default Decals

The decals are actually two colors, black and white.

By the way has anyone noticed that the white decals on the model are shown on both the left and right side of the model and that those small fins that go across the open area of the main fins are shown on the bottom of the model instead of the top of the model. I actually thought the art work was corrected before the kit was released.

I tell ya, I would have built this kit for Estes and for free so they wouldn't have to use a computer drawing

Now that the nose cone has been recreated Estes can re-release the Torellian Invader.
