GAD FRACKING DURNIT!
I am having such a pain with my vintage 1999 Saturn V's vac-mold fins that I'm thinking of making two-ply replacements out of hard balsa, or basswood. Does the new Saturn V still use those **** things?

Suck it up buttercup! I accomplished it with my Centuri kits (1B and V) when I was a kid. You can do it!

Go on the Estes site (estesrockets.com) and you can buy a set of injection molded fins. put "saturn v" in the search box, and the first item returned should be: Saturn V Plastic Fins Stock # 073156, $5.99

Since you’ve laid claim to “I love sanding”, I’m thinking I’ll use “I love vacuformed fins” ...

Oh, excellent. These are for a Saturn with considerable internal upgrades, so sturdier fins might be called for. I'm trying again with the vac-form styrene fins once more, using acetone rather than Testor's liquid plastic cement.

Try Tenax 7R if you can find any or Tamiya Extra Thin Cement. Pure Acetone evaporates too fast. Brodak dope thinner works too as liquid plastic cement.
