Default Nike Tomahawk 12

Attached is a photo of a Nike tomahawk 12. The 12 is for 12" diameter payload section which is not shown in the photo. Another thing different in this round from other Nike Tomahawks is the fins for the Tomahawk. Kinda look like Astrobee D or Sandhawk fins.... kinda. I have photos for this and another round as well as launch reports. I'd really like to write a scale article on this unique variant, but I cannot find any information on the Tomahawk's fin dimensions. So, I thought I'd post this photo here see if anyone could take a stab at photo interpreting them? I can rescan this at a higher res if it helps. Thanks in advance.

Eagle, I'll take a crack at it, but I would like both pictures as high res as possible.

They are unusual fins. And that could be a boattail underneath them. Launch site looks like Kauai.

Sure, PM me for my email address and give me a couple of days.

Here are some drawings I got from Thiokol years' ago...the "Tomahawk Family" brochure shows a Nike-Tomahawk w/ the 12" payload, but the fins don't look quite like the fins in your photo, but it might be the angle.

They sent several Nike-Tomahawk drawings, again the fins look similar to me.

The Ute-Tomahawk has Aerobee-like fins, so I included it too.

edit: corrected my statement about the N-T/12 fin drawing looking like ISQY fins...

Hi Mark. I'll scan the photos in high res tomorrow and shoot you a PM..

Thanks for the PDFs David. I didn't have the first one in my data collection and appreciate it.

Dave F. I sent you those photos a few years ago hoping you had extra data.

Hi, Buzz !

I actually contacted Sandia about the fin dimensions, but they never responded. Maybe a FOIA request is required ?

I'm pretty sure Sandia is exempt from FOIA. It's a corporation that contracts with the government.
