Default Help me choose what gets built next!

I should be finished, minus sanding and final priming, with the Estes black star voyager kit, and am really torn between building an estes Andromeda, or a Patrol Cruiser Excalibur. I love both designs, so anyone wanna suggest which one should be next on the table?

The Andromeda is cool, but with the tiny parachute section and all the geegaws hanging out to snag the parachute, it's kind of iffy in flight. Go with the Patrol Cruiser Excalibur, mostly because I've never built one.

I like the Retro-style of the Patrol Cruiser. It (he) looks great built, especially next to his Avenger Guinevere girlfriend!

Are you scratching the Andromeda or do you have a kit?

anything I build would be scratchbuilt. I may see about upscaling the excalibur to a bt-70 or bt-80 and make a nice midpower retro rocket

Decision choice C is what I chose, which is a 1.67 upscale of the Mars snooper. I was in the hobby shop today and saw most of the parts there so basically it will be a clone of the Hawks Hobby super snooper but with paper transitions , etc. Im curious of one thing though, since the shrouds on the tail will fit a bt-55 rather than the bt-20 the original kit has in that area, should I have the bt-50 motor tube coming out sheathed in a piece of bt-55? first upscale Im attempting so im feeling around in the dark. Also, since the original kit uses 3/32 balsa, should I step up to 1/8" balsa or would someone like to suggest some other fin stock?

Basswood would be a good choice for the fins. You would need to use epoxy, also, to attach, of course.

Epoxy naturally. I use epoxy, gauze strips and titebond for everything over a D engine. so would 1/8" be a good thickness?
