RSO and LCO training
This event is a go.
It will be held on May 5th, 2012. 1pm till 5pm. in coordination with the "X member rocketry rummage sale" At a home located in Franklin, WI. As this thread is open to the public I am not going to divulge our X members address on this open thread. If you want to attend you are going to need to PM me for the info. You will be required to give me your name in your pm. so I know who is coming. Kind of like an RSVP. I understand how difficult it is for folks to jump up and actually volunteer to do RSO and LCO duty. I think that it should be on every good rocketeers agenda to volunteer some time towards the enjoyment of the hobby for their fellow man. That is everyone should get a little and give a little. I'd be willing to give a little song and dance to teach guys how to do these volunteer jobs. Would anyone be interested? I'm not walking much so it would be here at my place. Plenty of rockets here to use as props. Some bad ones too Last edited by wooshprez : 04-04-2012 at 08:00 PM. |

I don't get down to Bong much, mostly because the tiny rockets I tend to fly work a bit better at the sod farm. BUT, should I be able to get to Bong, I would not mind helping out if I can. If you offer this training and I'm in town, I would come.

Are there HPR Certification requirements for RSO and/or LCO?

Although we do not have a formal written rule regarding high power certification for RSO and LCO staff it has always been agreed that the:
RSO should be L-2 preferred, L-1 acceptable. LCO L-1 is nice but not necessary. The deal really revolves around the fact that there is usually an appropriately certified member within earshot who can jump in when needed. |

I plan on going for level 1 in April. I would volunteer to help as LCO.

I am more than willing to help and learn also, so let me know when. Problem lately is that I have not had much time for the forums. Maybe you could email me? dnl2@att.net

I'm interested. While I've done a bit in the last couple years, I generally just wing it, with a bit of common sense thrown in. Club has some published guidelines, I wonder if they need any freshening up.
