Was able to finish my F-14-ish model up before I leave on vacation. It has a lot of wing, but is fairly heavy so the boost is lower, so sort of a wash. I finished it in a pseudo VF-111 sundowner scheme but with the early 1970's white control surface scheme that they didn't actually use in VF-111, but I felt it helped set off the tail surface and swing wing markings and give it that tomcat look. I think its the best I could do while still using the interceptor cone, I could later switch to a PS-II 2" cone and add a bubble canopy, but since that cone is shorter It will require a bit more nose weight to compensate. It's already at 14 oz rtf so a bit of a piggy.

18" long, 24" wingspan, about 6 oz/sq foot wing loading.

Your F-14 in the "Sundowners" scheme is your coolest project EVER by far. The F-14 ROCKS and should have been picked up by the USAF as well.
ANY platform that fires a 100+NM BVR A2A Missile (Phoenix) is WAY cool.
That missile was also intended for the original F-111 as well but the ability to deploy it was scrapped during it's development...MAJOR mistake.
An F-111 in "Vietnam Camo" would also make a cool R/C BG

Yes, there is such a thing as NORMAL
, if you have to ask what is "NORMAL" , you probably aren't !

Failure may not be an OPTION, but it is ALWAYS a POSSIBILITY.
ALL systems are GO for MAYHEM, CHAOS, and HAVOC !

Here is the tomcat, since it's a fighter, I did a few rolls, and did split esses transitioning into glide for a change..

I've been working on/thinking about this one for a while, I found a spare cosmic interceptor kit in my box that wasn't allocated to kits, and put this together. Based on an F-16, of course with a longer nose due to the interceptor cone. I went with a mid mounted wing and full flying tail only. I had to cut off one of the speed brake tabs on one side so that I could slide the wing in the slot, then glued it back in place, then slide the stabilators on and glued on the capture rings to hold them in place. Did some glide tests in the house before equipment install and took a swag at the boost CG. RTF weight came out right at 11.25 ounces before finishing. Did two test flights today in about 10mph winds, handled it really well, and I was able to move the CG back slightly.

I started using some vinyl to do the markings and so far she is coming out pretty nicely. I had to modify the thunderbird scheme slightly since I'm cutting this freehand and the nose being long, I did some nose and mid stripes so the middle wouldn't seem too plain. It's about half done with markings and panel lines, but with the bird on the bottom complete.

Your F-16 looks REALLY good.
Do you ever add rudder control to any of your RCRGs ?

Hi, generally I don't use rudder for the rc rg's, just added weight in the aft end, It's never been a problem for me boosting or landing, even in crosswind.
