No that was NOT me, but I do know who that is.
Happily I have never crashed my Corvette or any of the numerous ZR1's or Z06's I have piloted.
That snapped around so fast it looked like a tire went down or a tie-rod let loose.

Failure may not be an OPTION, but it is ALWAYS a POSSIBILITY.

No, an idiot GM exec was behind the wheel.
What a MO!
Probably never driven anything with more than 200hp, let alone on a road course!
Super-fail!

It's funny that the announcers on TV thought the driver was Oriol Servia, a vetern IndyCar driver but they were just as surprized to see it was Mark Reuss.

Rubber "marbles" could be another likely culprit in addition to something breaking in the steering linkage.
Good call- probably the most likely cause, but would be a strange spot for marbles to be on the track.
The track/pace cars are equipped with ultra-sticky tires that do not require "heat" to grab really well.
That was about $8K worth of carbon fiber front fascia damage.

Looks to me like he was pretty much in the racing line. He may have been just a little inside, but marbles don't accumulate near as bad on the inside of a turn as on the outside. I believe he just had too much throttle for that little bump. That's exactly where his rear end breaks loose.

No pranks.
That person is regularly in 500+ hp cars. He is a vehicle development executive, not a bean-counter.

He drove like he had no idea what he was doing.
How embarrassing!

I'm telling you, something broke on the car.
There was no tire smoke from sudden braking or acceleration.
Something broke causing a wild veer out of control.
