Default Sod Farm "Half Azz" Triathlon July 11, 2015

Here are the rules for the "Half Azz" Triathlon on July 11, 2015

This years Triathlon will be with a 1/2A powered rocket. One rocket will be flown and judged in the following 3 events:

1. 1/2A Parachute duration.

2. 1/2A Streamer duration.

3. All rockets that successfully fly in and survive the first 2 events will be judged for best rocket as voted on by all those in the contest. These rockets will be judged on workmanship and design.

Your rocket may be flown on a 13mm or 18mm 1/2A motor. You can decide whether you want to go small and light or go with a bigger rocket with room for a bigger chute and streamer.
You may launch your rocket from a tower, piston, or standard rod.

You must recover your rocket after each flight undamaged. Damaged or lost rockets will result in a DQ.

Once disqualified you are out of the rest of the competition.

Points will be awarded for the top 3 flights in events 1 and 2, and for the top 3 rockets in event 3 as follows:

3 points for 1st place, 2 points for 2nd place, and 1 point for 3rd place.

The winner of the triathlon will be the flyer with the highest total points after the 3 events.

There will be a prize for 1st place in the triathlon and also a prize for best successful rocket. I will be announcing the prizes shortly.

This should be a fun event that anyone can participate in and should encourage everyone to try some new techniques to get the most out of the 1/2A motors.

Any questions let me know.

Thanks

Dan

Due to a sudden death in the family I will not be able to make it to the Sod Farm launch on Saturday. I will be up north at the funeral. As a result we will be moving the Triathlon to next month Sod Farm launch. Paul will be taking over this Saturday as the responsible adult and we will still be having a cookout. Please bring a dish to pass and any meat you may want to grill up. We also need a volunteer to bring a grill out. Please let us know if you can help. Sorry to have to cancel the triathlon but this will give you a chance to practice for next month.

Thanks
Dan
