Clear Plastic Nose Cones
Hi. Do you know of any clear plastic nose cones besides the Estes Phantom? Or any non-rocketry items such as plastic eggs that would happen to fit a body tube? Thanks!

Why don't you contact Estes customer service Dept and ask about purchasing the Eggcalibeer egg capsule. kit #2123 1-800-525-7561 X216 Or you could send an email to customer service www.estesrockets.com |

What you could do , is get a clear payload section (tubing) and, depending upon the diameter you are looking for, make your own. Get a transistion, the clear tubing and the nose cone. I think that Semroc could assist with the needed parts. www.semroc.com |

I have been toying with the idea of a pull form to make parts for my Pad Abort
http://forums.rocketshoppe.com/show...highlight=Abort and one of the things I thought of was to use the clear blister pack plastic that stores use in there bakery department for packaging large cakes. Heat it up and "pull" it down over a form. I just need the time to try it and a small clear plastic nose cone would be the perfect "experiment". What size do you need?

Best thing to do would be to look around a Hobby Lobby or a Michaels and maybe find something there. Or, learn to make resin nose cones. I think there is some clear resin material suitable (most are opaque beige or transparent yellowish or amber) but I don't know who makes it.

You could also try turning one from a piece of cast acrylic...

Here's the closest thing I have to a clear plastic nose cone: a candelabra base LED night light bulb.
