Cheese Steak Sub Sandwich
Cheese Steak Sub Sandwich.
I order one of these sandwich(s) about once a month. It's called a Steak B0mb. Steak, cheese, green and red peppers, onions and pepperoni, mushrooms and salami. I'm not sure if there are other things in it but it is the b0mb. They also have a house salad dressing that is out of this world. I have them use that instead of mayo. Anyway, I can only eat half the sub(I get a small) and toss the other half on the fridge for the next meal. Here's my dilemma. When I reheat the sub, half the bread gets hard and the other half is soft. What am I doing wrong? http://places.singleplatform.com/gi...f--pizza-2/menu

It's the stinkin' Onions.
Throw those in the DITCH where they belong, and it will reheat properly. Especially if you wrap it with a damp paper towel.

Heat it halfway and then turn it over. Either both sides will be soggy or both sides will be dried out.

Since "The Vixen" is from t he Philly area she was raised on Philly Cheese steak sandwiches. She often makes them for us at home. They've VERY close to what we've gotten in South Philly.

We have just had a "Jersey Mike's" sandwich shop open in my local town in the last year.
They make a decent Philly Cheese Steak. Not as good as our "Detroit Metro area" Tubby's Grilled Submarines chain, but good. The closest Tubby's sandwich shop to me is over 15 miles from home. I stop there when passing it, but it's too far to go for just a sandwich. Their sandwiches are big and good enough to be willing to pay $15 for a foot long Jumbo 3-cheese Steak with tons of yellow peppers and olives. If one is in the Metro Detroit area, you really should try Tubby's....and no I don't have any financial interest in the chain.

There are reputed to be at least a couple of places in Ontario cities like Toronto and even Kitchener that serve a half-decent Philly Cheese Steak Sandwich; but I'm sure they are nothing like the real deal. And up here about three hours further north-west of those enclaves of civilized cuisine we certainly have no such opportunities. We did briefly have a Quiznos in our area where you could at least get the requisite ingredients combined onto a toasted bun; but unfortunately the franchise never lasted very long. So enjoy every juicy, savoury, mouth-watering bite of the best you can get!

Wrap your cheese steak in damp paper towels to prevent drying of the bread, and open the roll up to expose the steak, etc. If you are using the microwave, keep in mind that the thicker something is the longer it takes to heat up,as well as different times for different foods to heat up (moisture content) Keep the roll open.

I have been to Philly many times. I have been to the two main cheese steak houses to partake of their cuisine. Because I'm not a local, I can't tell the difference. IMO, they are both good. IDK! While traveling in the early 2000's, I got to see/hear Elton John give a free concert in Philly. You'll never guess what song he opened with?

Thank you. I do just that. 45 seconds both sides. No difference. On a side note, I worked for the company that invented the microwave oven. Raytheon. Thirteen years. They bought the Beechcraft Aircraft company during my time there and developed the Beechcraft Starship. I got to see the experimental three quarter version when they brought it to Manchester,NH. Airport to show the employees. You had to have your badge on you to visit the interior of the Starship. Very impressive! All glass interior.
