Default MiG 25 Foxbat Fighter Jet Rocket

I just finished this Mig-25 Fighter Jet project this past W/E.
I took it to a Boy Scout meeting on Monday past and Harold and I did a presantation to the Scouts on model rocketry.
They seem to like it.
The MiG is D/E powered. It's heavy, it weighs almost 4 oz.(120grams)
18 inch chute will provide recovery.
14.75" BT-55 body and with nose cone, it is 19" long with 3/32 medium hard balsa for fins.
I enlarged an Estes Strike Eagle for the engine pods.
I think it looks neat.
And no I have not flown this yet but I'm sure it will fly.

I'm waiting for some decals from another rocket designer who shall go nameless but does a lot of interesting builds.

And just like the real MiG 25, you have to swap engines after every flight at max thrust.

So when do we get to see it next to an F-15 Eagle?

Later,

Default Already done!

EV,

Already done!

I built the Estes version. Two of them! They just need paint.
Are you looking for a larger version?
I could do that. No challenge there!

Later,
Daniel

Default It Flies!

It Flies!

Finally I fly the MIG. I brought it to CMASS today. I did not have a motor for it but I was hoping to buy or trade for one.
Better yet I got one donated by a fellow CMASS member and new found friend Mark A.
He wanted to see it fly. As did I.

Thank you Mark.

Check out the pic and video.

Default Parts

Here are the parts if someone want to clone the MIG

BT-55 14.75" long
BT-5 9.5" long Cut in half lengthwise(turtledeck)
Bullpup Nose Cone
BNC-5W Nose cone ogive type cut in half lengthwise(turtledeck)
BNC-5V Nose cone rounded type cut in half lengthwise(****pit)
3/32" C-grain hard balsa 4" wide
"D" or "E" Motor Mount.
1/4" triangle stock

I used the Estes Screaming Eagle kit for the tube marking guide(enlarged)
and on the build of the wings and engine tubes.

If anyone trys to build the MIG, pm me if you have any questions or concerns. I'll do my best to answer your questions.

Very nice! It looks like it went straight up.

A bonus to see the trees in "fall colors". We don't get to see that kind of change around these parts.
