Well, since it was a wholly owned "subsidiary" of RA, I'd suppose it's gone as well. From what Dave told me years ago when I visited Red Arrow, most of what he got from Sheri was "junk" (as he put it). He was basically having to retool the kits from scratch anyway to make them acceptable for the market. I don't know how far along he got in that process before RA disappeared itself. It was several years ago that I visited up there (like more than 5 years). Later! OL J R

I'd DEFINITELY like to see someone take over the TLP line and continue it. From what I've seen and heard about Sheri's Hot Rockets, they really weren't very good quality... the only real thing they had going for them were that they were HPR "scale" models, though from what Dave showed me and things I read online from folks who bought the kits, the molds were definitely NOT even close to scale and the tubes were like carpet tubes or something-- really low quality parts. The turned aluminum nozzles were really nice, but the guy who made them "at cost" for Sheri quit making them for her after she divorced her husband (his buddy), which is part of the reason her business went toe up... (at least that's the story Dave told me). The turned aluminum nozzles were one of the biggest selling points of the kits, and he was having a devil of a time finding anyone willing to turn them for him on a lathe at an affordable price... all the guys he had talked to at the time demanded a per-piece price that would have easily DOUBLED the price of the kit (and Sheri's kits were NOT cheap to begin with!) IOW it would make them TOTALLY unaffordable and thus reduce potential sales to near-zero... I don't know if he ever solved that problem either... Later! OL J R

I'd like to see someone purchase TLP and upgrade the kits to what they should have been in the first place. Ditch the paper transitions, replace them with ALL balsa turned parts (cones, transitions, reducers), and include a FULL Decal package. THAT and ONLY that would make the kits worthwhile.
I don't want to hunt all over the place to make a kit 'complete'.....EVER.

I made a ton of TLP decals and the occasional nose cone.

Paper transitions are ok by me in most cases. I'd rather have a balsa nosecone most of the time, though. Decals...the kits should either have a decal sheet or give you online access to a file to print your own. I don't want to hunt, clean up, resize, correct color, etc. on some fuzzy decal pic when I've already paid for a kit. I don't mind it so much when I scratch build.

Same here. I also don't mind paper transitions (Lazer-X, Mars Snooper, etc.) but TLP's "paper hat" nose cones were the main thing that prevented be from buying the kits. I want to build a model rocket--NOT a kite!

Go for it. Buy TLP and upgrade the kits all you want. Or, just rant. Whatever.

Gordon, Do you still have any decals? I occasionally hit your site but it appears to be shut down. Or maybe you are going thru one hellacious maintenance cycle? I'm not looking for anything in particular, just interested in what might still be available.

Yes, I have a bunch left. If I can get the inventory control thing on my web site to work I'll list them. My web site won't adjust my inventory. If I sell the last one it still shows one left. I kind of panic when I sell the last decal 'cause I have to get in there quickly before someone else tries to buy it. I hate giving refunds, it's embarrassing. In the mean time just PM me what you're looking for.
